Tours to Beaujolais: Discovery of Lyon and the Beaujolais

Full day : Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10.00 am to 6.30 pm.

This excursion offers you the opportunity to discover Lyon and the Beaujolais on the same day : In the morning, sightseeing tour of Lyon in a double-decker bus "Lyon Grand Tour": The panoramic deck offers you outstanding views of the city, from the Place Bellecour to Fourvière, the river banks, ... In the afternoon, guided tour to the Beaujolais vineyard with wine tasting.

10.00 am Departure for a discovery of Lyon : Visit Lyon and discover the city seated in a double-decker bus « Lyon Le Grand Tour ». Admire the outstanding views from the panoramic deck : Place Bellecour, Fourvière, Place des Terreaux, quais de Saône... Thanks to the audioguide, you will hear commentaries about the city of Lyon. End of the tour at 11.15 am Place Bellecour.

Lunch at leisure in one of the restaurants and bars of the city centre.

1.30 pm You will meet your guide Place Bellecour and depart for a half-day excursion to the Beaujolais:

Tuesday and Thursday: Beaujolais and Golden Stones
Discover all the beauty and richness of South of Beaujolais landscapes. The yellow ochre colour of the Golden Stones villages is absolutely unique and earned the name of Beaujolais Tuscany given to the region.

Stop at the medieval village of Oingt, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Salles Arbuissonnas' 12th century cloister, and Vaux en Beaujolais, a typical village where the best selling writer Gabriel Chevallier housed Clochemerle, his colourful novel. The visit will end by a tasting in the wine cellar.

Back to Lyon by 6.30 pm.

Saturday: The Route des Crus du Beaujolais
Brouilly, Chénas, Chiroubles, Côte-de-Brouilly, Fleurie, Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin à Vent, Régnié, and Saint Amour are the 10 Beaujolais Crus that are the jewels in Beaujolais' crown.

The visit to a winegrower will be the highlight of this tour : He will be proud to show you his estate, explain his work and offer you to taste his production in the cellar at the end of the visit.

You will also discover the charming village of Beaujeu, former capital of the Beaujolais.
Back to Lyon by 6.30 pm.
